Debt Education & Certification Foundation - Debt Education
Pre-discharge education refers to the requirement of debtors to participate in a U.S. Trustee approved debtor education course through an approved organization after filing a bankruptcy, and prior to the discharge of a Chapter 13 or Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The course will be a two-hour course over financial management and is required in addition to the bankruptcy certification course taken prior to filing. Debt Education and Certification Foundation provides this type of course, and is an approved provider by the Executive Office of the United States Trustee, to meet the requirements set out by recent bankruptcy legislation. Courses will be available to be completed over the internet in a user-friendly format for the convenience of debtors and their attorneys. Approval does not endorse or assure the quality of an Agency's services.
